Homemade Chocolate Syrup


I love a good cup of good chocolate milk. Only problem is, my mom never buys it! This makes the best chocolate milk, ice cream topping and you can dirizzle it on any dessert. Anyone can make this. It is so easy and cheap to make and it is much healthier than Hershey syrup. That stuff has some pretty nasty stuff in it . This is a hundred times better than Hershey syrup, too. Beat that!

 What you need:

– 1 1/4 c. sugar

– 1 c. unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 c. water

1/4 tsp. salt

– 2 tsp. vanilla extract

combine the sugar and cocoa powder in a medium saucepan and whisk briefly to get rid of any clumps. Stir in the water and salt and bring to a boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently. once the mixture reaches a boil, reduce to a medium-low heat and let simmer until slightly thickened, about five minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for about another five minutes. Stir in vanilla. Store in refrigerator.
